In 2001, Hill East Community Garden was only a dream.
Neighbors in this east Capitol Hill neighborhood came together, worked hard and in a few short years, they turned that dream into a reality. What was once an overgrown, neglected plot of land is now a thriving community garden.
Hill East Community Garden (HECG) is located in Southeast Washington, DC, between C St., D St, and 17th and 18th Streets.
The garden houses 36 4’x12′ raised-bed plots.
